Robert C. "Bob" Johnson Calumet City Robert C. Johnson, age 82, of Calumet City, IL, passed away Tuesday, February 17, 2004. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Betty; son, Robert N. (Carole) Johnson of Naperville, IL; daughter, Betty Gail (Warren) Swart of Ft.Wayne, IN; four grandchildren, Jennifer (Pat) Timmons of Naperville, IL, Michael Johnson of Chicago, IL, Nicole Johnson of Michigan and Joe Swart of Ft.Wayne, IN; three great- grandchildren, Kylie, Keagan, and Mckenna; brother, Charles Johnson of Munster, IN and sister, Shirley Skeds of Chesterton, IN. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 21, 2004, at 10 a.m. from the First Baptist Church of Hammond, 523 Sibley Blvd., with Dr. Jack Schaap and Dr. Johnny Colsten officiating. Burial to follow at Memory Lane Memorial Park, Schererville. Friends are invited to visit with the family at the Bocken Funeral Home, 7042, Kennedy Avenue, Hessville, Hammond, on Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Mr. Johnson was a resident of Calumet City for 77 years. He was a World War II U.S. Navy Signalman, he retired in 1980 from the Ford Motor Company after 25 years as a Production Engineer at the Chicago Heights Stamping Plant. Mr. Johnson was a builder of several homes in Calumet City including his present residence. He enjoyed fishing, was an avid gardener, known for his prize-winning dahlias in several local garden shows. He was a skilled woodcarver and an artist. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his memory would be appreciated to the Altheimers Research.
