Robert John Gasman II, 58, Sarasota, died March 19, 2006, at Bay Pines Veterans Hospital, St. Petersburg. He was born Jan. 3, 1948, in Duluth, Minn., and came to Sarasota from there 27 years ago. He was a truck driver for Construction Supplies of Sarasota. He was a Navy veteran and a Catholic. Survivors include a son, Robert J. III of Rockaway Beach, Mo.; his mother, Katherine of Sarasota; a sister, Linda Hellgren of Duluth; a stepdaughter, Cheryl Schultze of Duluth; two stepgrandchildren; and his former wife, Katherine Laine of Rockaway Beach, Mo.
