ROBERT J. OWEN LANSING, IL Robert "Bob" J. Owen, age 43 of Lansing, IL passed away on Sunday, October 27, 2013 surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his mother, Camille (nee Hitson) Owen and her best friend of 19 years, James Jones; sister, Tammy (Joseph) Owen Blank; brothers: Joseph and Jamie Owen; nephews and nieces: Ryan Blank, Katie Blank, Justina Owen, and Joseph Owen; uncle, Wayne (Cindy) Hitson; and numerous cousins and friends from UPS Cartage. Bob was preceded in death by his father, Robert V. Owen. Funeral services for Bob will be held on Monday, November 4, 2013 at 10:00 AM at the Schroeder-Lauer Funeral Home, 3227 Ridge Rd., Lansing, IL. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Calumet City, IL. Friends are invited to visit with Bob's family on Sunday, November 3, 2013 from 2:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home. Bob's family requests that flowers be omitted. Donations may be made to Bob's family. Bob worked as a driver for UPS Cartage for 19 years. He was a 1989 graduate of T.F. South High School and an avid NASCAR racing fan. Bob was a wonderful son, loving brother, awesome uncle, and friend to everyone.
