TROY Robert J. Kent passed into the hands of the Lord on August 24, 2004. A resident of Troy, he was born in Albany on March 28, 1946, son of the late Edward and Eleanor Sheehy Kent. He was educated in Albany school and was a U.S. Army veteran serving in Vietnam from 1965-1967. A member of the Amalgamated Clothing Workers of America, he was employed as a cloth cutter in various factories in the Tri-City area for the past 30 years until his illness forced his retirement in January 2004. He is survived by his sister, June McCormack of Schenectady and 19 nieces and nephews in the area. He was the longtime companion of George Temple of Troy for 40 years. He was the brother of the late Marlene Kent, Edward Kent, Josephine (Dolly) Burnah and Janice McDonald. Relatives and close friends are invited to attend Robert's funeral Mass at St. Anthony's Church in Troy on Monday, August 30 at 9:30 a.m. Interment will follow in St. Agnes Cemetery in Menands. There are no calling hours. Donations in Robert's memory to the Hospice at the Veteran's Administration Hospital, c/o 113 Holland Ave., Albany, would be appreciated. Arrangements by the Wm.
