MACKENZIE, Robert Ian - It is with deep sadness that the family announces the passing of Robert Ian Mackenzie, Hank to many, or Bob as he was known to his friends, on Wednesday, November 26th, 2008 after 88 amazing years. Survived by his beloved wife Jacqueline and predeceased by wife Joyce Gertrude (1974). Loving father of Coralie Wood and husband Earl, Rob and fiancée Celia Harrigan, Beverly and partner Wendell Wilson, Sherrie and partner Stewart Lee. Dear Grandpa or Pop as they all called him, of Scott, Stuart (and Glory) and Andria Forbes (1994), Dennis Pinder (and Marie), and Christian Barrios. Great-Grandpop to Alexandria, Aiden, Abigail, Sean and Michaela. Survived by his sister Jean and brothers Ross (Joy) and Ken and predeceased by sister Lorna and brother Allan. With his spirit of duty and adventure, Ian joined the RAF before he was even of age and served proudly as a member of the Allied Forces in WWII. Ian loved to fly and spent many years piloting gliders and teaching many how to soar during his years at the Caledon Gliding Club. An avid sailor with a very competitive spirit, he enjoyed racing and cruising on the lake up until a few years ago. He was proud to become a lifetime member of the Etobicoke Yacht Club and longtime member of Erindale United Church. Ian's spirit will live on in the hearts and lives of his family and many friends across the globe. Friends may call at the Turner & Porter ''Peel'' Chapel, 2180 Hurontario St., Mississauga (Hwy. 10, N. of QEW) from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. on Sunday.
