Mr. Robert H. "Pops" Davis, age 75, of Autry Spur, Gainesville passed away Monday, Jan. 28, 2008, at his residence following an extended illness. Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, 2008, in the chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with burial to follow in North Atlanta Memorial Park. The Rev. Billy Brumbalow will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2008, at the funeral home. Mr. Davis was born in Lake Village, Ark., to the late Benjamin Davis and Lillian (Evans) Davis. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He loved the Lord, his family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a member of the Buford Highway Baptist Church in Doraville. He was a member of the Norcross Masonic Lodge. He loved life, going for walks and traveling to the beach. He was loved and will be truly missed by all his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandchildren, Shawn Wayne Davis, Kayla Marie Davis and David Angel; sister, Lorene Looper; and brother, Ben Davis Jr. Mr. Davis is survived by his son, Robert S. Davis, Cumming; daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Nelson Brumbalow, Gainesville; sons, Gerald Wayne Davis, Cumming and Gregory Lee Davis, Flowery Branch; sons and daughters-in-law, David Ray and Sheri Davis, Bremen, and Michael A. and Tamorah Davis, Gainesville; 15 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives also survive.
