GRANVILLE, N.Y. - Robert H. Lennox, age 63, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, September 27, 2010, at Rutland Regional Medical Center. Bob was born on October 16, 1946, in Glens Falls, N.Y., the son of Byron "Barney" Lennox Sr. and Leona Greenway Lennox. Bob was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served during the Vietnam War. He was retired from the Navy Reserves. Bob was a member of the American Legion and a past commander of the VFW. Bob was retired from the New York State Corrections Dept. where he was most recently a sergeant at the Mount McGregor Facility in Wilton. Through the years, Bob had obtained three associate degrees in various business principles. He had never decided which he wanted to pursue. Bob was currently serving as the grand knight of the KofC in Granville. He was a past president of the Granville Lion's Club and also served as zone chairman. Bob was an avid golfer. He also fancied himself a hunter, thoroughly enjoying the woods and nature. However, his family hesitated to call him an avid hunter because, even though he loved the concept, he was not particularly successful in his endeavors. In addition to being predeceased by his father, Bob was also predeceased by a brother, Major Dyer Lennox. Survivors are his mother and his wife of 40 years, Margaret (McGrath) Lennox. Bob is also survived by two sons, Robert Lennox and his wife Lori of Granville and Christopher Lennox and his wife Sarah of Troy, and one daughter, Mary Lennox of Granville. Bob was blessed with six grandchildren, Hannah and Connor Lennox of Granville, Alonna Garmley, Becca, Allie and Angie Lennox, all of Troy. Also surviving are Bob's siblings, Byron Lennox and his wife Donna of Lebanon, Conn., Susan McKee and her husband Frank of Mather, Calif., Craig Lennox and his wife Cathy of Granville, David Lennox and his wife Debbie of Granville; his sister-in-law, Sherri Lennox of Canaan, N.H.; and an aunt, Audrey Lennox of Queensbury, N.Y. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, 23 Bulkley Ave., Granville, N.Y., with the Rev. Thomas Zelker presiding, on Thursday, September 30, 2010, at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cemetery. Friends may call on Wednesday, September 29, from 4-8 p.m. at the Robert M. King Funeral Home, 23 Church St., Granville, N.Y.
