Robert G. Garland, 85, Bradenton, died May 20, 2005, in Sarasota. He was born Feb. 27, 1920, in Pittsfield, N.H., and came to Bradenton in 1978 from Stowe, Vt. He retired after 18 years as an insurance investigator, 10 years as a real estate appraiser and also as an electrician for RVs. He was an Army veteran of World War II, detailed to the British Tank Corps in Egypt. He was a member and past president of the Realtor Board of Vermont and was a member of Oneco United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Louise; daughters Linda Louise Giles of Newnan, Ga., Brenda J. Lucas and Carole L. Berkowitz, both of Woodbridge, Va.; sons Robert G. of Bow, N.H., Brian T. of North Haverhill, N.H., and Jeffrey B. of Allenstown, N.H.; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Monday, with services to follow, at Griffith-Cline Funeral Home, Manatee Avenue Chapel. Memorial donations may be made to Shriners Children's Hospital, 12502 N.
