Robert Eugene Johnson, Robert Eugene Johnson, 64, of Ventnor, N.J., died Monday, July 19, 2004, in Atlantic City, N.J. The service will be at 11 a.m. EDT Friday at Gormley Funeral Home in Atlantic City (609-344-1101), with burial at Leeds Point Cemetery in Oceanville, N.J. Family will receive friends from 9 a.m. EDT until the time of service.Born and raised in Atlantic City, he was a lifelong resident of the area. He was employed by the Taj Mahal Hotel and Casino as an operating engineer. Mr. Johnson was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 68 of the AFL-CIO. A U.S. Navy veteran, he served aboard the USS Casa Grande (LSU-131).He is survived by five children, Tina Marie Reason and Cheryl Mixer (and husband Gene), both of Crawford; Susan Elizabeth McFarland and Robert Eugene Johnson, both of Tallahassee, and Michael Robert Johnson of Ventnor; four granddaughters; two grandsons; a great-granddaughter; five brothers and sisters, Enoch N. Johnson (and wife Gloria) and Patricia Johnson, both of West Atlantic City, Frank Johnson Sr. (and wife Joanne) of Atlantic City, Gail Bigelow (and husband William) of Galloway Township, N.J., and Edith Mori (and husband Paul) of Absecon, N.J. and numerous nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his mother, Ada Johnson, and two children, Mildred Johnson and Leslie Johnson.
