Obituary of Robert-Elwyn Davis


Robert Elwyn Davis, 83, Ellenton, died Aug. 13, 2004. He was born Jan. 5, 1921, in Philadelphia and came to Ellenton in 1980 from Ocean City, N.J. He retired as an executive in the shipping industry. He was a member of the American Legion for 43 years and a member of Kirby Stewart Post 24. He was a graduate of Trenton State Teachers College. He served in the Naval Intelligence Unit in Washington, D.C., and in the Pacific Theatre during World War II. He was a Presbyterian. Survivors include his wife, Clare; a son and daughter-in-law, Robert K. and Sophaphen of Anna Maria; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. No visitation is scheduled. A graveside service with military honors will be at 2:30 p.m. today at Mansion Memorial Park, Ellenton. D. Alan Moore, Licensed Funeral Director, is in charge.
