<!-- FH = Austin & Bell Funeral Home-Pleasant View --><!-- DisplayFullObituaryText -->Robert ElliottRobert Elliott, age 97 of Cedar Hill, died Tuesday, November 18th, 2014 at Spring Meadows Healthcare Center in Clarksville. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, November 22nd at 10 o'clock a.m., at Brewer's Chapel United Methodist Church, with Rev. Bill Redding and Ben Shearron officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery in Springfield, with Lake Elliott, Bennett Elliott, Robert Elliott, Will Elliott, Brett Howard, and Wayne Shearon serving as Pallbearers.The family will receive friends at Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Pleasant View on Friday from 4-8 p.m., and again at the church on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the hour of service.Mr. Elliott was born in Robertson County, TN on December 10, 1916 to the late William Bennett and Mattie Saba Walker Elliott. He was a farmer and a member of Brewer's Chapel United Methodist Church.His achievements and service to others include serving as a magistrate in the Robertson County Court for 28 years; was a long-time chairman of the Official Board at Brewer's Chapel United Methodist Church; was the founder of the Highland Rim Angus Association; was a charter member and former director of the Robertson County Farm Bureau; was a life-time member of the American Angus Association; was a charter member of the Robertson County CO-OP; and was President and football captain of the football team at Bell School, in Adams, Class of 1935.In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Margaret Bush Elliott; an infant son; sisters, Elizabeth Hale, Lucye Elliott (his twin), and Saba Bologna.Survivors include his sons, Joe (Anne) Elliott of Adams, and William Bush (Cheryl) Elliott of Cedar Hill; daughter, Linda Elliott (Jim) Brunner of Panama City, FL; brother, Dr. Walker Bennett Elliott of Springfield; sister, Sue Cox of Knoxville; grandchildren, Kirstan (Brett) Howard, Lake Elliott, Bennett Elliott, Robert B. (Lindsay) Elliott, and Will B. (Megan) Elliott; great-grandchildren, Zane and Sophie Howard.The family wishes to say a special "thank you" to Mr. Robert's caregivers, Betty and Pam, and to the staff of Spring Meadows Healthcare Center and AseraCare Hospice.If so desired, the family requests memorial contributions be made to either the Montgomery County Cattlemen's 4-H Arena or to Ag in the Classroom.
