ObituaryROBERT E. JONESRobert E. Jones, 82, of Potsdam, formerly of the Ithaca-Varna area, died Wednesday, August 3, 2005 at the Canton-Potsdam Hospital.Mr. Jones was born May 12, 1923 in Lansing, the son of Harold L. and Nina B. (Myers) Jones and attended Lansing public schools. He was employed at "the Plantations" at Cornell University as a groundskeeper for over thirty years. Robert moved from Ithaca to Potsdam in 1998.He is survived by several cousins.Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday (Aug. 9) at the Shurtleff Funeral Home, 103 Lincoln Ave., Groton, with the Rev. John E. Iler officiating. Interment will follow in North Lansing Cemetery.
