Robert E. Jacksonof OxfordRobert E. Jackson, 82, of Oxford, passed away on January 26, 2007 at the Veterans Administration Hospital, Syracuse. He was born on February 24, 1924 in Milford, N.Y., the son of the late Earl and Margaret (Potter) Jackson. On March 19, 1947, he married Dorothy Tripp, who died on September 20, 1987. He is survived by his children, Donna and James Carr, Gilbertsville, and their children, Kellie Carr, Ohio, Kimberley and Paul Valdez, Brooklyn, James and Brenda Jackson, Pittsfield, N.Y., and their children, Dwayne and Becky Jackson, Pittsfield, N.Y., and Jennifer Jackson, Oneonta, Douglas and Cyndi Jackson, Greene and Florida, and their children, Stacy Jackson, Florida, Michelle and Terry Sutton, Florida and Christine Jackson; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren also survive. His loving fiancée, Betty Benedict also survives. Bob served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a longtime independent long haul truck driver. He was a loving, giving soul willing to help anyone in need. In later life he enjoyed fixing lawn mowers.At his request there will be no services or visiting hours.
