JORDAN Robert Charles "Coon Man" Jordan a resident of 148 West 42nd Street passed away May 20, 2005. He was a member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, Rev. John E. Guns, Pastor. He retired from the City of Jacksonville after 32 years of service. Mr. Jordan was also employed with Royal Janitor Service and served in the US Army. Survivors include: wife, Mary Sumpter Jordan, Jax.,FL; sons, Gary Sumpter, Atlanta, GA., Anthony & Kenneth Sumpter of Jax.,FL.; daughters, Patty Ring, Valley Village, CA., Pamela (Bernard) Parker, Linda (Eugene) Clark, Deborah (Walker) Myhand, Joyce (Karl) Warthen, Kathy (Paul) Williams, Sharon Sumpter and Demetria Williams; brother, Dennis (Edna) Ray; brothers-in-law, SGT. Jesse (Dorothy) Richardson, Upper Marlboro, MD., Elder (Maxine) Wright, Calvin (Jackie) Wright, Ernest Wright, Lennan Ashley and Ike Jennings, New York City; sisters-in-law, Ruby Jenkins, Ida (John) Walker, Thelma (Leonard) Brown, Deborah (King) Cannon, Mavis Hodge, Newark, New Jersey a nd Carol Turner, New York City and a host of other relatives and many friends. A Celebration of Life will be held SATURDAY, May 28, 2005, at 11:00 a.m. at Abyssinia Missionary Baptist Church, 2360 Kings Road, Dr. Tom & Eugene Diamond, Pastors. Mr. Jordan will rest in the mortuary for visitation of friends on Friday (Today) from 5:00-9:00 p.m. and in the Church on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of service.
