CARTER _ Robert (Bob) John December 20, 1945 - January 16, 2008 Bob Carter passed away suddenly on Wednesday, January 16, 2008. Bob was born in Toronto, ON and lived in many places in Canada, including Winnipeg, Edmonton, and Oakville, while growing up. After graduating from the University of Guelph in 1971, Bob moved to Calgary and took a job in the Biochemistry Department at the University of Calgary, where he met and married his wife Kay, his soulmate for thirty-five years. After obtaining his master's degree in Clinical Biochemistry in 1977, Bob accepted a job as a lab scientist in the Biochemical Genetics Lab at the Alberta Children's Hospital where he worked full time until his retirement in 2004. Since he could not break the tie with his colleagues and patients, Bob went back to work at the Children's Hospital from time to time on a casual basis until November 2007. Besides his loving wife Kay, Bob is survived by his children, Kelly and Brian (Jamie); his mother Verlaine; his brother Steve (Rebecca); and his nephews, Alex and Duncan. Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at St. Albert the Great Catholic Church (10 Prestwick Drive S.E.) on Sunday, January 20, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Albert the Great Catholic Church (10 Prestwick Drive S.E.) on Monday, January 21, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com .
