Robert C. WhittenRobert Cloyd Whitten, 89, of Florence, passed away May 16, 2013, at E.C.M. Hospital. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII and Korea.Visitation will be Saturday, May 18, 2013, from 6-8 p.m. at Greenview Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Sunday, May 19, 2013, at 2 p.m. in Greenview Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Tommy James officiating. Burial will follow in Greenview Memorial Park.Mr. Whitten was preceded in death by his daughter, Kathy Barnett; parents, Robert and Mittie Whitten; sisters, Gladys Linville, Pauline Wright and Kathleen O'Bryant.He is survived by his daughters, Edith Ann McBride, of Florence, Brenda Hieber (Ron), of Manchester, Mich.; grandchildren, Laura Roof, Katrina Billin (Jeff), Becky Roof; great-grandchildren, Ashley and Cassandra Spoelhof; and wife, Marlene Pruitt Whitten, of Ypslanti, Mich.Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.Special thanks to Dr. Heaton, Dr. Sago, Dr. Danny Martin, Dr. Webb and staffs, the 5th and 6th floor West of E.C.M.
