JOHNSON Robert C. Johnson, age 56, our beloved husband, father, son and brother of Bridgeport, passed away at his home on Thursday, November 16, 2006. To cherish many wonderful memories, he is survived by his devoted wife of 30 years, Sheila Gagnon Johnson; two daughters, Amy and Amanda Johnson; his mother, Kathleen Narkevics Johnson; one brother, Richard Johnson, all of Bridgeport; one sister, Kathy Johnson of Derby; one sister-in-law, Cindy Terifay, and her husband, Edward, of Fairfield; several nieces, nephews; and close friends. He was predeceased by his father, Carl Johnson. Born in Bridgeport, Bob grew up in Fairfield, where he lived until moving to Bridgeport four years ago. He was a graduate of Andrew Warde High School, Class of 1969 and served his town as a past member of the Stratfield Fire Department. Bob was a retired WPCF employee for the Town of Fairfield and continued working for several years with Deitz, Inc. Bob enjoyed walking with family and friends around St. Mary's Sea Wall, fishing and card playing. He also loved taking in a good Yankees game or Nascar race on the television. Throughout his life, Bob was a hard worker, would often make himself available to help others and above all adored his wife and daughters. Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road in Fairfield Center. On Sunday, a prayer and committal service will take place at 7:30 p.m. with Msgr. Blase Gintoli, officiating. A private burial is planned in Lawncroft Cemetery.
