Robert Bob Leo Parker, 63 TOGUS -- Robert Bob Leo Parker, 63, of Raymond, formerly of Chebeague Island, died Friday, Jan. 19, 2007, at the Veterans Administration Health Center in Togus after a brief illness. He was born in Portland on Feb. 7, 1943, the son of Frances (Roma) and Leo Parker. He was a graduate of Portland High School. He began his working career with NT Fox Cabinet Shop. He served in the U.S. Army and saw duty in Vietnam. After his discharge he returned to NT Fox. In 1967, he married Natalie Ross in Portland and in 1969 they moved to Chebeague Island where he owned and operated Ye Olde Firehouse Construction until his retirement. After retiring he and Natalie moved to Raymond. While a resident of Chebeague, Bob was involved with the Chebeague Fire Department, was a Boy Scout leader at the Chebeague Island Methodist Church, and was a committee member for the Cumberland/North Yarmouth Youth Hockey. Not long after moving to Raymond be became a member of the Lake Region ATV Club which he truly enjoyed. Bob will be remembered for his excellent workmanship and craftsmanship. He was a man whose character is described as salt of the earth for being so easy-going and his unpretentious nature. He possessed a strength that helped many others in times of difficulty and need with his support and presence. He will also be remembered as a happy man who made the best of everything with his own unique sense of humor. Most of all, he will be remembered by his family as a man who É loved, loved, loved his kids and grandkids. Bob is survived by his wife Natalie of Raymond; his son Robert of Hawaii, and his children Bryce and Autumn; his son Steven and his wife Margaret of California and their children, Sydney and Benjamin; his daughter Lynne Cary and her husband David of Raymond and their son, Zachary; his sisters Alice Willette of North Windham and Cheryl Ahern and her husband Michael of Scarborough; and several nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be on Wednesday, Jan. 24, from 3-6 p.m., at Lindquist Funeral Home, One Mayberry Lane, Yarmouth, with the funeral service also at the funeral home on Thursday, Jan. 25, at 1 p.m., with the Rev. Glenn Coombs officiating. Burial will be in the spring on Chebeague Island.
