Ms. Robbie Lee "Rye" Jackson, 83, of 112 Steinkuhler St. passed away on Sunday, May 18, 2014, at her home. The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 24, 2014, at Mt. Nebo AME Zion Church with the Rev. Richard Woods officiating and the Rev. Roosevelt Alexander delivering the eulogy. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Born in Chester County on Jan. 24, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Zeb Frazier and Mary Earl Jackson. She was a member of Mt. Nebo AME Zion Church, sang with the Hymn Choir and was chairperson of the Homecoming Committee. She was preceded in death by 11 brothers; five sisters; one niece; and one nephew. Survivors are two sons, David "Buba" (Gwen) Jackson and Rev. Melvin (Deborah) Jackson; two nephews reared in the home, Joe W. Culp Jr. and Roy Lee Jackson and several others; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Joe W. Culp Sr.; and nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the home. Viewing will be from 2 to 7 p.m. Friday at King's Funeral Home, 135 Cemetery St., Chester.
