Rita M. Smith Hobart Rita M. Smith, age 67 of Hobart, formerly of Highland, passed away on Tuesday, December 7, 2004. She is survived by her husband, Richard Smith of Hobart; son, Charles (Ellen) Smith of Barrington, IL; daughter, Denise (Lenard) Lynch of Hobart; three grandchildren, Stephen, Valerie and Bridget Lynch; two sisters, Marian (Myron) Lieske of Long Lake, MN and Carol Hartman of Highland; one brother, John Mann of Sebring, FL; one sister-in-law, Nancy Mann of Highland; many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her brother, Mark Mann. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, December 18, 2004 at 12:00 noon at Burns Funeral Home, 701 E. 7th Street, Hobart with Rev. Dominic V. Bertino, officiating. Interment at Calvary Cemetery in Portage immediately following service. Cremation at the Burns Funeral Home Crematory will precede the memorial service. Friends may meet with the family on Saturday, December 18, 2004 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon (time of service). In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to VNA Horton Hospice Center, 2402 Valparaiso Street, Valparaiso, IN 46383. Rita was a graduate of Griffith High school and a member of St. Bridget Catholic Church in Hobart.
