Obituary of Rita-Marie Johnson


JOHNSON, Rita Marie (1925-2008) - Peacefully at the Brantford General Hospital on Wednesday September 17, 2008 surrounded with the love of her family. Rita is survived by her best friend and husband, Doug. Friend and mother to Michele and Joe Cohoon of Brantford, and Vicki and Michael Gojanovich of Guelph. Loving stepmother to Murray, Joan, Walter, Robin, Bruce and Barb. Admired and much loved Nana to Holly, Joe, Marc, Lee, Sally, Leanne, Tommy, Leo, Sandra, Pat, Jen, Stephanie, Sarah, Jeremy, Casey, Matthew, Meggan, and Shane, Rita was a much loved great-grandma to eleven beautiful great-grandchildren, Cody, Riley, Maddi, Marcus, Paige, Cayla, Lauren, Jacob, Christian, Rachel and Katie who were the light of her life. Sister of Toddy, Ted (June), and Madeleine. Mom met all challenges in her life with courage and humour. What a role model! Our heartfelt thanks to the emergency room staff at the Brantford General Hospital, as well as the staff of Tranquility Place and St. Joseph's Lifecare Centre. An open house celebration of Rita's life will take place at the Brantford Golf and Country Club on Sunday, September 28 from 1 to 4 p.m. Friends and family are welcome.
