Johnson, Rita M. COHOES Rita M. Johnson, 84, of Cohoes, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 19, 2010 at Albany Medical Center after a brief illness. She was born in Albany and was the daughter of the late Peter and Hannah Burnetter. Rita was employed as senior identifica-tion clerk with New York State Depart-ment of Criminal Justice for 25 years, retiring in 1986. She served two terms as president of her local CSEA Chapter. She was predeceased by her son, Robert A. Johnson and her siblings, Joseph, Peter, Francis, John, James, Thomas, Vincent, Marie and Elizabeth. Rita is the beloved wife of 66 years to Donald Johnson. She is the devoted mother of Donald (Mary) Johnson of Colonie, Susan (Ronald) Goldfarb of Albany, Patricia Johnson Doyle of Loudonville and Gail (Thomas) Desrosier of Conn. She is also survived by nine cherished grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Saturday morning at 9:00 at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie then to Historic St. Mary's Church on Capitol Hill at 10:00 where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours will be Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to VFW Home for Children, 3573 S.
