Rita C. Johnson TROY - Rita C. Johnson (Corrigan) February 16, 1922 – December 2, 2012 died after a long illness. Rita spent most of her life as a Troy resident. She had been employed for Our Lady of Hope – Little Sisters of The Poor in Latham, NY where she worked for several years as a nurse's aide .She was pre-deceased by her parents Sarah and Patrick Corrigan, her brother Patrick Corrigan ,her sisters Helen Curran, Sadie McGuirk , Edna Socola and Mildred Shears. .Rita is survived by her children , Marie Elaine ( Edward ) Ruff , James J. Johnson Jr. (Lauren ) ,Maryanne ( Barry ) Bedrosian , Deborah Riggione ( Ron Christiano ) ,David Johnson ( Judy Rush ) and Laurie ( Michael ) Dewolf. She has 11 grandchildren , Edwin (Marylea) Ruff, Colleen ( Tim ) Ruff Mutler, Joshua (Jessica ) Johnson ,Jerimiah and Justin Johnson ,Melissa ( Tyson ) Denlinger, John Johnson ,James and Corey Riggione ,Katlyn Bedrosian and Michael Dewolf II ,she has 9 great grandchildren , 2 great, great grandchildren and several nieces ,nephews and cousins. The funeral service for Rita will be held on Thursday morning at 10:15 am from The Wm. Leahy Funeral Home 336 Third St. Troy and at 11 am at St. Joseph's Church in Troy where a mass of Christian burial will be celebrated. Relatives and friends are invited to attend and may call at the funeral home Wednesday form 4- 7 PM. Interment St. Mary's Cemetery Troy Contributions in Rita's memory may be made to the St. Joseph's Food Pantry c/o St. Joseph's Church in Troy
