GRANITEVILLE, S.C. - Entered into rest Tuesday, August 7, 2007, Mr. Richard Wayne Owens, age 21, of Graniteville, beloved son of Edward "Eddie" Owens, Graniteville and Eleanor Lee "Lisa" Tager of Augusta, Ga. and stepmother, Rhonda Tager Owens of Graniteville. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his grandmother, Mary Jewell Blackmon of Warrenville; his fiancŽe, Wendi Pritchett of Graniteville; his one year old son, Justin Morris Owens; two brothers, Edward Douglas Owens, Jr. of Augusta and Sean Morris Owens of Graniteville; a sister, Christina Jewell Owens of Graniteville; a very special uncle, David Johnson of Warrenville, and a number of aunts, uncles and cousins. He was born in Kershaw County, but has been a lifelong resident of Aiken County. He was a graduate of Midland Valley High School. He was employed as a machine operator for Kimberly-Clark in Beech Island. He was a member of Bath First Baptist Church and a member of the church softball team. He was also a member of the Aiken Chapter of the American Red Cross. He will truly be missed by his family and many friends. The funeral service will be conducted Friday, August 10, 2007 at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Napier Funeral Home with Rev. Herb Sons officiating. The interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens in Langley. The pallbearers will be Ricky Pope, Rick Horne, Mike Hutto, Mack Rutland, Chris Holley and Jason Kruger. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Bath First Baptist Church Softball Team. The family will receive friends at his residence in Graniteville or tonight, Thursday, evening, August 9th from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Napier Funeral Home.
