Obituary of Richard W. Davis


Richard W. Davis ACTON Richard W. "Mountain" Davis,48, a former longtime resident of Acton, Ma. and Cyr Plantation, ME., died unexpectedly Sun., Jan. 3, 2010 at the Nashoba Medical Center in Ayer. He was the husband of Deborah (Day) Davis. Born in St. Joseph, MI, he was a son of James B. Davis of Cyr Plantation and Barbara (Schnair) Davis of Acton. Affectionately known as "Mountain," he attended the Acton schools and Minuteman Regional High School. A career truck driver, Rich was formerly employed by McCain Foods of Presque Isle, ME, and J.J. Bouchard of Van Buren, ME. He loved time spent with friends and family around a bonfire, and enjoyed grilling, playing cards and pool, and listening to the "Oldies." He and his wife, Deborah, married this past July and recently settled in Fitchburg. In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by a son, Danniel Davis of Gardner; 2 sisters, Deborah A. Davis of Cyr Plantation and Dawn Card of Boxborough; a brother James B. Davis Jr. of Acton; three step-children, Kathleen Clough and Kara Day of Fitchburg, and Kevin Foley of Lancaster; and many nieces, nephews and extended family members. Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours on Friday, January 8th from 4-8pm at the Acton Funeral Home, 470 Mass Ave. (Rte 111) Acton. Interment will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Richard's name to the charity or organization of one's choice.
