Mr. Richard Thomas O'Mahony II, 31, Calhoun, Ga., passed away Friday, Jan. 1, 2010, from injuries received in an auto accident.Mr. O'Mahony was born on Nov. 26, 1978, in Iowa City, Iowa, son of Richard Thomas O'Mahony Sr. and Angela Darlene Jones O'Mahony. He was a graduate of Calhoun High School class of 1997, where he excelled in wrestling and was a member of the Georgia Wrestling Team.He also played soccer for Calhoun High School and served his country with the United States Army.He is survived by the mother of his loving children whom he adored, Quincey O'Mahony; and children, Benjamin Landon O'Mahony and Ryleigh Mierann O'Mahony, Calhoun, Ga.; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Thomas O'Mahony, Calhoun, Ga.; one brother, Bradford James O'Mahony, LaGrange, Ga.; grandparents, Robert and Linda Martin and Albert and Alice Colflesh, all of Davenport, Iowa; and aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Harriett Martin and J.C. Jones.Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Chapel of Max Brannon & Sons Funeral home with Minister Gail McGatha and Pastor Norris Sexton officiating. Honorary escort will be members of Gordon County E-911 Center, Gordon County Emergency Management, the Gordon County Ambulance Service, the Gordon County and City of Calhoun Fire Departments, Gordon County Sheriff's Department, the Calhoun Police Department, Georgia State Patrol and the Gordon County Wrestling Club, and they are requested to meet at the funeral home Tuesday at 12:30 p.m. Interment will follow the service in Chandler Cemetery.
