MILLER--Richard, 83, of Weston, CT and Palm Beach, FL, died on July 18 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Brooklyn, he graduated from Erasmus Hall High School, New York University, and the New York University School of Business. He attended Officer's Candidate School in Newport, RI, was commissioned as an Ensign, and served in the United States Navy from 1953-1956. He was discharged as a Lieutenant JG, and began a career in real estate. In 1984, he moved to Weston, CT and became active in civic affairs, serving three terms on the Weston Board of Selectmen. Well-loved by friends and family, and respected by his peers, Richard Miller is survived by his wife of 59 years, Lois nee Hirsch; his son Evan Miller; daughter Jill Miller Goldberg; grandchildren Leif Miller, Hayley Miller, Brett Goldberg, and Nikki Goldberg; daughter-in-law Nancy Hedin; and son-in-law Richard Goldberg. Donations in his memory may be made to the Zena & Michael A. Weiner Cardiovascular Institute, or the Robert & John Bendheim Parkinson's and Movement Disorder Center, both at Mt. Sinai Medical Center.
