Richard Miles MacDonald Following a brief yet valiant battle with cancer, Richard Miles MacDonald, 64, of Moncton, passed away at The Moncton Hospital on Friday, November 21, 2014, surrounded by family. Born in Moncton and having spent part of his childhood in Jamaica, he was the son of the late Roderick and Maysie (Eaton) MacDonald. Richard retired, after 40 years of service, as Vice President of MacDonald Paving & Construction Ltd., a company which his father established and he and his two brothers maintained. He was happiest spending time in his back yard or attending Wildcats games and cherished his 1974 Plymouth Barracuda. Richard will be sadly missed by his wife of over 37 years, Francine (née Bourgeois); children, Cheryl (and husband Kevin) and James (Kayla LeBlanc); sister, Elizabeth Trueman; brother, Roderick “Tiny” MacDonald; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Dennis MacDonald. Visitation at Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Sunday from 1:00 to 4:00 pm. A Service Celebrating Richard’s life will be held at Fergusons Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, November 24, 2014 at 10:30 am, with Rev. Allison Carroll officiating. Reception in the Funeral Home Reception Centre following the service. Interment, Elmwood Cemetery in the spring.
