Funeral service for Richard "Rick" McDonald, 55, Loblolly Lane, Port Orange, who passed away June 1, 2007, at Halifax Medical Center, will be held at 12 noon on Friday, June 8, at Volusia Memorial Funeral Home, 4815 Clyde Morris Blvd., Port Orange. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Friday from 11 a.m. until 12 noon. Mr. McDonald was born in Brighton, Mass., son of the late John and Margaret "Peg" McDonald, and moved to this area in 1976 from Everett, Mass. Rick was an electrician and worked for Lowe's in Port Orange. He was a member of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church and enjoyed traveling and listening to music. He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Karen; sister-in-law, Donna Vita, Holly Hill; brother-in-law, Bob (Mattie) Goodwin, Auburn, N.H.; one brother; six nieces; four nephews; and three great-nephews. Memorial donations may be made in his memory to Diabetes Association, 1101 N. Lake Destiny Rd., #415, Maitland, FL 32751. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Volusia Memorial Funeral Home, Port Orange.
