Richard Lee Taylor, 65, of Cooper City, died Saturday December 28th. He was born to the late Ivan Fate and Mildred Taylor, September 27th, 1948 in Corpus Christi, TX. Richard graduated from Coral Park High in 1966 and received his BS electrical engineering from FIU in 1979. He married Christine Ray in 1969, and they lived together in Miami, FL before settling in Cooper City in 1984 where they raised their three cherished sons. Richard worked on blood analyzers at Beckman Coulter for 30 years before retiring. He was a gifted drummer and had an immense love of music long after he left the bands, The Cliques and Snuff. However, his most notable accomplishments were as a beloved husband, loving father, and doting grandfather. Richard was a source of strength and unconditional love to all who knew him. Richard is survived by his wife, Christine Ray Taylor; three sons: Craig (Gina) Taylor, of Knoxville, TN; Bryan (Angela) Taylor of Davie; Eric (Keren) Taylor, of Parkland ; five precious grandchildren Daniel, Lila, Caitlin, Colton, and Troy Taylor and his faithful dog Annabelle. He is also survived by his brothers Ivan Fate Jr, Robert, and Ronald as well as many cousins, nieces and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to Messiah Lutheran Church where he was a prominent parishioner and proud supporter. A viewing will be held at 5 p.m. on Monday Dec. 30th at Funeraria Memorial. Services will be held at 11 am on Dec. 31st at Messiah Lutheran with burial to follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.
