LAKELAND -- Mr. Richard "Dick" Jordan Sr. of Lakeland died of cancer Thursday (Nov. 18, 2004) at Good Shepherd Hospice in Auburndale. He was 75.Born in Monticello, he came to Lakeland from Quincy at an early age. He was a retired laborer and a member of Local No. 1240. He was an Army veteran. He was a member of First Baptist Institutional Church.Mr. Jordan is survived by his wife, Gennell Jordan; sons, Richard Jordan Jr., Haines City, Michael Brantley, Belvedere, S.C., William "Billy" Jordan, Lakeland; daughters, O. Ann Nealy, Pamela Calloway, Kaye Fields, Denise Jones, all of Lakeland; brothers, Samuel Jordan Jr., Burke, Va., Redderick Gainous, Lakeland; 19 grandchildren; 18 greatgrandchildren. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Coney Funeral Parlor. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Institutional Church.
