Richard James Williams, 69, St. Augustine, died Nov. 22, 2008, at his home. He was born in Champagne, Ill., and had resided in St. Augustine since 1960, moving here from Riverside, Calif. He was a mechanic, and he was a member of the National Rifle Association and the North American Hunting Club. Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 29, 2008, at the chapel of St. Johns Family Funeral Home with Pastor Ronnie Warren, Christ the Redeemer Church, officiating. He is survived by his daughter, Avalon Edwards, St. Augustine; his father, Richard Arnold Williams, Saba Island, Caribbean; one sister, Kay McCoy, Union Grove, Ala.; two half sisters, Teresa and Sharon; and two granddaughters, Rachel Edwards and Nicole Nelson, both of St. Augustine. St. Johns Family Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
