Richard Aubrey Alexander, 81, a lifetime resident of Greenville, passed away Tuesday December 22, 2009. Born in Piedmont, S.C., a son of the late Dewey and Minnie (Taylor) Alexander, he was a Korean War Veteran and worked for many years at Judson Mills Textiles. He was a member of Westview Baptist Church. Mr Alexander is survived by his two brothers; Robert and Kenneth Alexander both of Greenville and his sister, Sandra Gaile Gutherie, of Greenville, several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his best friend Jimmy Cleveland. He is predeceased by his brother, Donald Alexander and his sister, Doris Gibson. Services will be conducted 2 p.m. Saturday, December 26, at Graceland Mortuary with Rev Charles Bell officiating. Interment will follow at Graceland Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Wesley Rose, Chris Olson, Randy Olson, Roman Philbeck, Donald "Doodle" Philbeck and Tommy Olson, Sr. Visitation for Mr. Alexander will be from 1 till 2 p.m. prior to the funeral service at the mortuary.
