Rev. -The-Betty-Joyce Moore, born in 1933, spouse of Grady Moore, daughter of George-Roscoe and Cornelia-Vincent, died on August 9, 2012 at 79 years old.
The Rev. Betty Joyce Starnes Moore, 79, of 181 Dixie School Road, died Thursday, Aug. 9, 2012, at Springs Memorial Hospital. A service is scheduled for 3 p.m. today, Aug. 12, 2012, at Hopewell United Methodist Church. Pastor Brian Barton and Pastor Steve Patterson will officiate. Interment will follow at Hopewell United Methodist Church Cemetery in Lancaster. The family is at Wendell's home at 771 Dahlia Road. The Rev. Moore was born Jan. 22, 1933, in Lancaster, she was a daughter of the late George Roscoe Starnes and Cornelia Vincent Starnes. She was a member of Good News Outreach Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband Rev. Melvin Adams and by second husband Grady Moore; brothers, Clyde Starnes and Robert Starnes and sister, Myrtle Dabbs. The Rev. Moore is survived by daughter, Sandra Barton and husband, Pastor Brian, of Lancaster; daughter, Shelby A. Todd and husband, Franklin, of Lancaster; son, Steven M. Adams and wife, Denise L., of Lancaster; a son, Thomas E. Adams of Lancaster; son, Wendell C. Adams Sr. and wife, Barbara Ann, of Lancaster; brother, B. Starnes of Prospect, N.C.; sister, Mildred Cranford of Lexington; a sister, Mary Harding of Lancaster; a sister, Allie "Tootsie" Mackey and husband, Poovey, of Heath Springs; 17 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Memorials may be made to Good News Outreach Church, 2145 Pageland Highway, Lancaster, SC 29720.
