JENKINS, The Rev. Berry "Richard," 73, a native and lifelong residentof the Fort Lonesome and Keysville, Fla., area, went to be with the Lord March 17, 2010. A graduate of Pinecrest High School and the Baptist Bible Institute, he pastored San Pedro Baptist Church in Perry, Fla., Shiloh Baptist Church in Plant City, Fla., New Prospect Baptist Church in Cross City, Fla., and Lake Ruth Baptist Church in Bartow, Fla., and was instrumental in the organizing and building of Faith Baptist Church in Old Town, Fla. He was a member of the Cedar Grove Baptist Church of Plant City and retired from IMC/ Agrico as a maintenance mechanic. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Ruth "Virginia"; daughters, Leatha (Edsel) Harrell of Flower Mound, Texas, Debbie (Don) Kline of Maryville, Tenn., Ruth (David) Wallace of Thonotosassa, Fla., and Ginny (Joe) Stickle of New Tampa; sons, Mike Brown of Spring Hill, Fla., David "Dejay" (Lu Ann) of Waycross, Ga., and Paul "Ben" (Dawn) of Keysville; sisters, Iris Gordon of Brooksville, Fla., and Nancy of Keysville; brothers, Gary (Carolyn) of Dover, Fla., and Jerry (Marie) of Keysville; 25 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends 1-2 p.m. and services, with the Revs. Charlie Thornton and Darrell Jones officiating, will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 20, 2010, at the Welcome Baptist Church.
