FALLON Rev. Msgr. James L., of Morris Plains went peacefully to the Lord on Friday, July 18, 2008. He was 90 years old. Born in Paterson, NJ, he was ordained to the Priesthood on December 18, 1943. He served as assistant Pastor at St. Vincent Martyr Parish in Madison from 1943 until 1957. He was the founding Pastor of Christ the King Parish in New Vernon in 1957 and served until 1966 where he was responsible for building the Church and Rectory. He then became Pastor of St. Michael's Parish in Netcong where he served from 1966 until 1968 when he became Pastor of St. Virgil Parish in Morris Plains and served until 1993 and remained as Pastor Emeritus until the present time. He became a Domestic Prelate with the title Rev. Monsignor on January 7, 1981.Monsignor is survived by his brother, John Fallon and his wife Dolores of Barnegat, NJ, and nieces and nephews, James, Regina, Colleen, Susan and Cynthia and many grand nieces and nephews and devoted cousins.Visiting will be on Sunday, July 20, 2008 at St. Virgil Church, Speedwell and West Hanover Aves., Morris Plains from 3-9 PM with a Solemn Vesper Service at 7:30 PM. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday at the Church at 10 AM presided by Bishop Arthur J. Serratelli. Interment will be at St. Vincent Cemetery in Madison.In lieu of flowers, donations in his name can be made to Saint Virgil Church, Speedwell Avenue, Morris Plains, NJ 07950.
