The Rev. George E. Lee, 79, Sarasota, died June 10, 2002. He was born March 3, 1923, in Myakka City and came to Sarasota in 1992 from Hartford, Conn. He was a shoe repairman and an associate pastor at St. John First Baptist Institutional Church of Palmetto. He was an Army veteran of World War II. Survivors include his daughter, Lou I. Burgess of Arcadia; seven grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 6 to 10 p.m. Friday at Jones Funeral Home, Sarasota. A service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Shiloh Baptist Church in Arcadia. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery in Arcadia.
