Reuben Bennie Brown, age 81, husband of Lula Gaines Brown, of 216 East Shockley Ferry Road, Anderson, died Friday, Sept. 21, 2001, at National Health Care in Greenville, after an extended illness. Born in Hart County, Georgia, he was retired from the textile industry, from Michelin and from White Jones Hardware. He was a member of Orrville Baptist Church where he served as an usher, and was a member of the Baraca Men's Sunday School Class. Surviving are his wife, Lula Gaines Brown of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Anne B. Fiedler and John F. Fiedler, of Greenville; four sisters, Mrs. Opal Barfield, Mrs. Grace Elrod, Mrs. Mary Tom Holland, and Mrs. Valeria Talley, all of Greenville; and two grandsons, Gaines F. Fiedler and Jordan A. Fiedler, both of Greenville. He was the son of the late Paul Brown and Annie Evans Brown. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 24, 2001, at The McDougald Funeral Home Chapel, with Dr. Wendell Bannister officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Anderson. The body is at The McDougald Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today, Sept. 23, 2001. The family will be at the residence, 216 East Shockley Ferry Road, Anderson. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Orrville Baptist Church, Building Fund, 42 Hammett St., Anderson, SC 29624.
