Mrs. Retha Mae Polite Smith - Savannah -Mrs. Retha Mae Polite Smith, 53, had her transition, Monday, April 9, 2007 at Memorial Health University Medical Center. A native of Savannah, she attended the public schools of Chatham County and graduated from Savannah High School in 1971. Mrs. Smith was a faithful and dedicated member of First Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church, where she served diligently as the Church Secretary and sang in the E.A. Capers Choir. Survivors: daughter, Regina Smith of Savannah; son, Calvin (Pat) Roberts of Savannah; three sisters: Fannie Brown of Atlanta, GA, Estella Jennings of New Brunswick, NJ, and Patricia Polite of Savannah; seven grands; sister-in-law, Susie Jackson of Harlem, NY; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, Church family, and friends. Public viewing: Wednesday, April 11, 2007 from 2-7 pm at the funeral home. Funeral service: 2 pm Thursday, April 12, 2007 at First Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church, 622 East Bolton St., Rev.
