SMITH, RENE, K., 57Lowell - Rene K. Smith, 57, of Lowell, FL, passed away on July 8, 2008 in Gainesville, FL. She was a retired Administrative Assistant at the Florida Department of Corrections for 33 years. She was born in Leesburg, VA and moved to Reddick, FL in 1972. Rene was a member of the Reddick United Methodist Church and a lifetime member of the Florida Council on Crime and Delinquency (FCCD). Memorial Services to be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 12th at the Ocklawaha Bridge Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband; Steven Smith of Lowell, FL, daughter and son-in law; Kelly and Edward Corbett of Ocklawaha, FL, mother and father; John and Virginia Kessel of Dunnellon, FL, brother and sister-in-law; John and Pat Kessel of Utah, sister; Dawn Kessel of Ocala, FL, stepdaughter; Deborah L. Smith of Micanopy, FL, four grandchildren; Megan and Matthew Mills of Ocklawaha, FL and Ali and Spencer Smith of Ocala, FL.
