Obituary of Raymond Lemieux


Lemieux, Raymond -- Linwood, Michigan -- Raymond went to meet his Savior Tuesday, November 29, 2005 at his home following a lingering illness. He was born in Linwood on August 13, 1910 to the late Honore & Elizabeth (Menuier) Lemieux. Ray married the former Elizabeth Brancheau in 1933 at St. Michael Church. She predeceased him March 21, 1999. In his early years Ray played saxophone in a dance bank and took part in the Flint Fischer Body Sit Down Strike in 1935. He worked as a farmer, thresher, well driller and was the owner of Ray's Plumbing and Heating Co. His many hobbies included baseball, hunting, fishing, boating, bowling, and golf. He was a member of the Knuckle Knocker's and a charter member of the Linwood Knights of Columbus where he called many games of Bingo. Ray was the oldest living, lifetime member of St. Anne Church. He will be sadly missed by his children: Betty & Leo Rokosz of Linwood, Luanne & Robert Satkowiak of Kawkawlin, Dolores & John Dawley of Minneapolis, Mary Lou Nickel Lee of Bay City, and Patricia & Clare Pajot of Linwood; 20 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents; 2 brothers, Felix and Clarence; a sister, Bernedette; grandson, Randall Rokosz, and a great-grandson, Brandon Rokosz. Funeral Mass will be held Friday, December 2, 2005 at 10 a.m. from St. Anne Church with Rev. Fr. Thomas Kowalczyk presiding with burial in St. Anne's Cemetery. Friends may call at Rivertown Funeral Chapel on Thursday from 2 to 9 p.m. A Vigil service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday evening, Sister Jean Baumann OSF presiding followed by a K. of C. Bible presentation. On Friday Mr. Lemieux will lie in state at the church from 9 a.m. until time of services. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Right to Life of Bay County or Family's Wishes. Rivertown Funeral Chapel 209 S.
