Obituary of Raymond A. Thomas


LEOMINSTERÊ--ÊRaymond A. Thomas, 83, of 246 Tisdale St., died early morning, Saturday, May 22, in Birchwood Care Center, after an illness. He was born on Aug. 21, 1920, in Fitchburg, the son of Simon and Annie (Boyaj) Thomas and had lived in the Fitchburg and Leominster area all of his life. Mr. Thomas attended Fitchburg schools. He was an Army Veteran of World War II, serving in Europe. Mr. Thomas worked 23 years for the former Falulah Paper Co. in Fitchburg. He also worked for E.I Dupont Co. for several years, retiring in 1977. He was a member of St. Anna Parish in Leominster. Mr.Thomas leaves his wife of 55 years, Eva (Lisciotti) Thomas; two brothers, George and Bill Thomas, both of Fitchburg; two sisters, Louise and Mariam Thomas, both of Fitchburg; many grandnieces and grand nephews. THOMAS -- On May 22, Raymond A. Thomas, 83, of Leominster.The funeral will be held Tuesday, May 25, from M.A. Simard & Son Funeral Home, 14 Walker St., Leominster, with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Anna’s Church, 194 Lancaster St., Leominster. Burial will follow in St. Leo’s Cemetery, Leominster. Calling hours are this evening from 5 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his memory to the St. Anna Church Restoration Fund, 199 Lancaster St., Leominster, MA 01453, or may be left at the funeral home.
