Dr. Raymon D. "Doc" Anderson age 82 of Ozello, FL passed away on Monday April 20, 2009 at his daughters home in Lecanto, FL He was under the care of Hernando-Pasco Hospice and surrounded by his family. Born November 18, 1926 in Henry, IL to William and Mary (Watts) Anderson. He proudly served in the Marine Corps in the War fighting in China and Japan. He then came home and attended Palmer College in Iowa where he got his degree in chiropractic medicine. He and his wife Josephine moved to Tampa, FL in 1952 to start his practice of 55 years. He helped many people, their children and their children throughout his career, most patients were like his extended family. They bought property in Ozello, Florida in the 60's where they built their weekend home, traveling back and forth from Tampa every weekend. They had just retired there in January of 2008. This home was Doc's sanctuary, his peaceful relaxation place. He entertained many friends throughout his years in Ozello and he will sadly be missed there. He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Josephine, who passed away Sept. 12, 2008 also his parents, and two brothers, Willis and Russ. He is survived by one brother Al and his wife Dorothy of IL. a daughter Paige Jones (Billy McLaughlin), a son Scott Anderson and two grandchildren Heather and Justin Jones as well as nieces and nephews and their families. A Funeral service will be held on Saturday April 25, 2009 at 1:00 PM from the Strickland Funeral Home Chapel in Crystal River, Fla. with military honors rendered by the American Legion Post 155 Crystal River. Private Cremation arrangements will follow under the direction of the Strickland Funeral Home Crystal River, FL.
