Obituary of Randall Smith


Randall Lee Smith, 65, a lifelong resident of Greenville, S.C., went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, November 19.Randall was predeceased by his father and mother, Leroy and Frances Smith of Greenville; his first wife, Sandra Bigby of Greenville; and his brother, Gaines Smith of Greenville. Randall left behind his adoring wife, Debra Ketchie Smith, originally from Statesville, N.C.; a sister, Deborah Smith Cole of New York, N.Y.; sons and their wives, Christopher and Kristie Smith of Columbia, S.C., and Gaines Ryan and Kimberly Smith of Simpsonville, S.C.; grandchildren, Nicholas, Noah, and Madeline; four sisters-in-law; and many cousins, aunts, uncles, nephews, and nieces.Following an athletic career at Wade Hampton High School in Greenville, S.C., Randall attended Emmanual College in Georgia. He woked in the JP Stevens Mill in Greenville until illness shortened his career. For the past twenty years, he lived with his wife in downtown Greenville, S.C. Randall was a loving, giving, and gifted man. His handmade trinkets will adorn baby nurseries, dressers, and toy boxes throughout the southeast for years to come. He is loved and missed by many.A service celebrating Randall's life wll be held Saturday Nov. 21, 2009, at 4 p.m. at Forest Park Presbyterian Church in Statesville.Reavis Funeral home will handle all arrangements.
