Randall L. "Randy" Smith, 47, Punta Gorda, died Aug. 24, 2006. He was born July 28, 1959, in Columbus, Ohio and came to the area in 1979 from Sunbury, Ohio. He worked as a heavy equipment operator. Survivors include his parents, Barbara and Harvey, both of Punta Gorda; sons Sean L. of Punta Gorda and Seth E. of Ocala; a brother, Rick of Sunbury; and one grandchild. No services are scheduled at this time. Larry Taylor Funeral and Cremation Services, Punta Gorda Chapel, is handling arrangements.
