Rachel-B. Smith, born in 1909, spouse of Samuel-Thompson-Smith Jr, daughter of Thomas and Ida-B. -Stewart, mother of James Theron, died on September 12, 2002 at 93 years old.
Mrs. Rachel Boling Smith, 93, of 405 North B. St., died Thursday, Sept. 12, 2002, at her home. Born in Greenville, Mrs. Smith was a daughter of the late Thomas Elliot and Ida B. Stewart Boling. She retired from Belk's Department Store in Easley in 1985. Mrs. Smith was a charter member of Calvary Hill Baptist Church, where she was formerly a Sunday School teacher, and was a member of the Grace Phillips Sunday School Class. Surviving is a sister, Elizabeth Boling Smith, of Fountain Inn. Mrs. Smith was predeceased by her husband, Samuel Thompson Smith Jr.; her son, James Theron Smith; five brothers; a sister; and a half brother. Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Westview Cemetery in Easley, conducted by the Rev. Barry Dilworth. The family will receive friends, at the graveside, immediately following the service. Memorials may be made to Pickens County Meals on Wheels, P.O. Box 1162, Pickens, SC 29671; or Calvary Hill Baptist Church, 501 Rampey St., Easley, SC 29640. The body is at Robinson Funeral Home, and family members are at their respective homes.
