Ruth Elizabeth Nelson Wills (Betty) died on October 9, at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla. Betty was born in White Plains, NY to Alison and Eyla Donaldson Nelson on February 26, 1920. She was married to Herbert H. Wills on February 19, 1944. They made their home in White Plains before moving to Thornwood, NY in 1964. Betty worked at the Reader's Digest in Pleasantville until retiring. She then volunteered at the White Plains Hospital for 34 years. Betty was a member of the Westchester Color Camera Club, her pictures having received honors both in the United States and Europe. For 64 years she was a well-loved member of the Ridgeway Alliance Church. Betty was predeceased by her baby son Donald. She is survived by her husband Herbert, and her children Gary and wife Pat (Aiken, SC); Bonnie and her husband Bob Smith (Pleasantville, NY); Brian and his wife Linda (Jackson, MI); and Jeffrey (Lauderhill, FL) and ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Ballard-Durand Funeral Home in White Plains. Funeral Service will be held Wednesday 1 pm at Ridgeway Alliance Church in White Plains.
