ROY M.GOODWIN, 72CSX Transportation LAKELAND - Roy M. Goodwin, 72, passed away Tuesday, April 30, 2013, as a result of renal failure. Born September 17, 1940 in Wauchula, FL, Mr. Goodwin and his family moved to Lakeland in 1968. He was employed by CSX Transportation, where he served as a clerk for 42 years until his retirement in 2002. Mr. Goodwin was a member of Northside Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Lakeland chapters of Woodmen of the World and the International Order of Foresters. Mr. Goodwin is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years, Joann Goodwin; son, Kevin Goodwin; daughter, Carmen Addison and her husband, Rob; sisters, Lynette Goodwin and Delila Stone and her husband Sherrick; brother, Alton Goodwin and his wife, Faith; grandson, Kevin Goodwin II; and step granddaughter, Brittany Addison. Mr. Goodwin's family will receive friends Saturday, May 4, 2013, from 10-11am, at Lakeland Funeral Home, 2125 South Bartow Highway in Lakeland. A celebration of Mr. Goodwin's life will be conducted at 11am with Pastor Dan Yaw and Pastor Randy Mlinek officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Lakeland Memorial Gardens.
