Roy Hyatt, born in 1915, spouse of Maria Joan, father of Roy and John, died.
HYATT, ROY, U.S, Navy, Retired, CWO-W4, passed away at his home in Apopka, with his family present. Roy was stationed aboard the USS Medusa during the attack on Pearl Harbor. He was a decorated veteran, receiving numerous national service medals before retiring from Sanford NAS in 1966. Born in Fields, LA, on October 22, 1915. Roy enjoyed a full life during retirement in FL. His interests included family events, gardening and seashore activities. "Chips" was a true gentleman with a kind and gentle soul. Chips is survived by his wife of 58 years, Maria Joan; two children, Roy and John; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Chips will always hold a special place in our hearts. Visitation will be 1:30-3:30PM, Tuesday, February 17, 2004 at the Altamonte Chapel, Military Services will be graveside, Highland Memory Gardens, 11AM, on Wednesday, February 18, 2004.
