The funeral service for Mrs. Rose Mae Williams will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 24, 2004, at Happy Valley Baptist Church, with the Rev. Willie Gay Williams and Brother Audie Huggins officiating. She will lie in state at the church from 1 p.m. until service time. Burial will follow at Belew Cemetery. Visitation will be at her home, 2795 E. Lee St., in Rogersville, this evening from 3 p.m. until 10 p.m. and will resume Saturday morning from 8 a.m. until noon.Rose M. Williams, 75, of Rogersville, passed away Wednesday, April 21, 2004. Rose was born and raised in Anderson to her late parents, Charlie and Della Clemmons Traylor on July 13, 1928.She was of the Baptist faith. She loved cooking and collecting Avon collectibles and antiques. Her walls are covered with her precious pictures of all her family and grandchildren.Rose lost her first husband, Willie Eroy Hammond, in 1947 in an automobile accident. She also was preceded in death by her brothers, Avery Traylor and Mrs. Williams is survived by sons, Ferreal Hammond, of Elgin, Willie Gay Williams and Roger Williams, both of Town Creek, and Terry Williams, of Rogersville; daughter, Kathy Borden, of Moulton; 19 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.Grandsons will be pallbearers, Ferreal Hammond Jr., Heath Williams, Everett Williams, Howard Hammond, Larry Borden, Rudie Williams and Everett Joe Williams, Roger Williams Jr. and Travis Williams.The family would like to express their gratitude and thanks to Dr. Deal, Dr. Carmichael, Dr. Little, Dr. Armead and the nurses in the Helen Keller CCU for their kindness and care.Also a sincere thanks to the church families of Clements, Happy Valley and Parkview Baptist churches and to all the family and friends for all of their loving support and prayers.Expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of donations to Happy Valley Baptist Church or to Belew Cemetery Fund.Elkins East Chapel is directing.
